A well known band from Hanna is making headlines again in their hometown.

In a YouTube video released this week, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger hinted that the band will be in Hanna after their Edmonton concert.

The announcement seemed to catch other band members by surprise, along with the Mayor of Hanna.

"As far as I know Nickelback is not coming to Hanna," mayor Chris Warwick said. "I've had a lot of inquiries and as far as I know  they're not coming to town, but I saw his YouTube video so I don't know."

He admits timing would work well but is not sure if the show announcement is legitimate or not.

Nickelback formed in the community in 1995 and has since gone on to sell over 50 million albums worldwide. They released their ninth studio album, Feed the Machine, June 15 of this year and are currently on tour.

Warwick figured the last time the entire band was in Hanna was when they filmed the video for "Photograph" in 2005, a song that reached Number One on many of the charts worldwide.

Nickelback will be at Rogers Place in Edmonton on September 26.
