Students in Drumheller and area have the opportunity to learn more about their potential career paths.

A variety of career mentors will be in attendance at the Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta World of Choices event.

"World of Choices is a career forum for high school students and in a nutshell it's like speed dating for careers," said Charity Vollman, program coordinator for Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta. "The students get the opportunity to sit with multiple career mentors throughout the day and have a candid conversation with the career mentors about their experience."

High school students will attend from Three Hills School, Prairie Christian Academy, J.C Charyk, St. Anthony's and DVSS.

"Students sit at round tables with about eight students per table for 20 minutes and then they rotate," explained Vollman. "They get an array of career mentors to choose from like healthcare, technology, science, creative arts, finances, you name it."

The event will be held at the Badlands Community Facility March 8 from 10:00 a.m until 1:30 p.m.

"It's a different approach for students to be able to really get a little bit more insight into their career paths," Stollman added.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided for the students.
