The 2017 White Elephant Sale for the Drumheller Rotary Club is done for another year and this year's event was a success.

White Elephant wrap 3Gloria Haden picks up a cheque for just under $700 from Graham Giffin.

"The generosity of the community was awesome. We had a lot of people through the doors, so it was very exciting and a very big thank you to everyone coming out," stated event organizer Graham Giffin.

So, how much was raised this year?

"We're just over $11,500. We're down a little bit from previous years, but it's still a very tremendous reward to the community," Giffin expressed.

The money will be going towards three different projects that Rotary has on the go.

"One is going to be released very soon (and) we have a $5,000 contribution going to the Drumheller Sparks," Giffin noted.

Many Drumheller and area residents donated tons of items and Giffin couldn't be more happy with how the event turned out.

"A big shout out and thank you to the Drumheller Co-op for letting us use the facility and to Bob Davidson, Top Waste, for his tremendous support and to the community for supporting us. Also a big thank you to everyone who came out and helped the community, thank you very much."
