Update: The weather advisory has just been issued for Drumheller, Rockyford and Three Hills as well.
The Hanna and Richdale area are under a weather advisory today, June 9.
Conditions are favourable for the development of funnel clouds.
These types of funnel clouds are generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms. This weak rotation is normally not a danger near the ground. However, there is a chance that this rotation could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado. Landspout tornados do not usually cause any significant damage, but still can be dangerous.
