UPDATE 3:00 PM - The Memorial Arena is now open to the public. The Drumheller Dragons game will proceed as scheduled at 7:30 pm tonight.

The Town of Drumheller has closed the Memorial Arena with immediate effect.

Drumheller CAO Darryl Drohomerski explains the sensor panel on the ammonia detector is not working. The building cannot be operated safely without this sensor panel and therefore no occupants will be allowed inside until the issue is fixed.

The technician is currently on his way back from Calgary with the replacement part and will start work as soon as he arrives in town. The Town hopes to have the arena up and running for the Drumheller Dragons game tonight.

We will keep you updated as details become available.
