With all of the negative economic news Alberta in general, and Drumheller in particular, it's nice to hear something promising.
The U-Haul on 5 St, SE has seen a lot of business this spring and owner Ed Lehn says it's mostly moving into the valley.
"We've been getting a good number of what I call professionals to semi-professionals coming in," he told 99.5 Drum FM, adding they include people working in the area and people planning to start a new business here.
"It's been quite a while since we've had the number coming in that we've got," Lehn added. "We've got an inventory here that's unreal of trucks that have been dropped off."
"I think that some of these professionals and semi-professionals that are coming in are saying the big city life is not for me," he opined. "You can come in here and you can feel safe, you can feel safe for your kids."
Lehn says salaries in Calgary might be higher on average than they are in Drumheller, but so is the cost of living, and the quality of life here in the valley is much better.
