Two people have been arrested after Drumheller RCMP caught them with illegal drugs.
On Saturday, April 28 at about 5:30 p.m. a van was pulled over by police. A statement says the license plate did not match the vehicle and Mounties quickly determined that the van had been stolen in Three Hills.
Further investigation revealed drugs inside the vehicle. Siezed were quantities of methamphertimine, carfentanil and LSD.
40 year old Richard Patrick Bixby of Stettler and 31 year old Nichole Raelene Hatt of Drumheller were arrested and charged with three counts of possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Bixby faces an additional charge of possession of stolen property under $5,000, while Hatt has also been charged with possession of a prohibited device, brass knuckles, as well as failing to comply with a probation order.
They were released on bail with a promise to appear in Drumheller Provincial Court on May 11.
