Valley residents and tourists alike will experience some delays in traffic on the South Hill.

As discussed in Town Council's agenda last Monday, July 24, the South Hill turnout will be getting underway very soon.

"Basically some rerouting of Telus phone lines, contractors moving their equipment over there and they're hoping to start on Monday (July 31), but we're still waiting for the plan so we can get barricades up on the highway," stated the town's Infrastructure Services Director, Darryl Drohomerski.

Once construction starts, Drohomerski noted it will take about a week to 10 days to be completed.Turnout 2

"There's a bit of excavation to do, there's a bunch of filling of materials like gravels, we have to reroute a couple of culverts, street lights and then it's just going to be paving."

"I think the thought originally was to have everything done by Friday before the long weekend, but it really depends again on the accommodation plan. Hopefully we get it today or tomorrow and then they can move full steam ahead," he concluded.
