A drive dedicated to putting smiles on the faces of kids this Christmas is being considered a success.
The Westergard Ford Toys for Tots drive was held for the second year on Saturday at the dealership.
"It was incredible," beamed Tiffany Andrew of Westergard Ford. "Last year we filled a couple of trucks (and) this year we filled a couple of trucks including the back seats, so even bigger and better."
Organizers will be taking the toys to the Salvation Army on Monday. Andrew says residents still have some time Monday morning to make a toy donation if they weren't able to do so on Saturday.
Toy donations this year included dolls, action figures, colouring books, board games, farm toys, clothing and more. Several local businesses also took up coroporate challenges and brought in several toys. Cervus Equipment, Made in the Shade, Shoppers Drug Mart, Drum FM, Performance Steam and RV, Western GM, and Valley Veterinary Clinic all made generous toy donations. Tim Hortons in Drumheller donated coffee and doughnuts and Santa Claus made a special trip from the North Pole to speak with children.
"I just want to thank the community as a whole. Without everybody's support we couldn't do it, so on behalf of us and the Salvation Army, thank you," stated Andrew.
