The Town of Drumheller has filled a few vacant positions lately and has recently welcomed Director of Infrastructure, Dave Brett to the table.
"My position is the Director of Infrastructure Services. I am responsible for the public works department and the staff, looking after the water system centre, the sewer system, the storm system, the roads, the garbage, and the parks and the facilities maintenance personnel," he explained.
Brett is native to Southern Alberta, and has spent some time in the area. He says he loved the landscape that Drumheller offers.
"I was born and raised in Calgary, so I am from Southern Alberta. I spent a year and a half working at the Sheerness Power Plant when I was in university. So I drove through Drumheller twice a week to get out there. I spent a lot of time in this area, I am familiar with it. I love the countryside in this area, I love driving out here, so it is a place I wanted to work, and I got the opportunity when the job was posted to apply for it," continued Brett.
Brett has over 18 years of experience in Municipal Infrastructure in the Calgary area and even in Saudi Arabia. He is excited to get things in motion for The Town of Drumheller.
"Primary concern will be to support the town's flood mitigation program. We got the announcement a week before I was hired with the funding grant. The primary thing will be to support that and to keep up the level of service that the town staff has been providing to the community," concluded Brett.
