On March 2 the Town of Drumheller launched of a new web-based economic development microsite, the Drumheller Business Toolkit for new and existing business owners in Drumheller.
"This economic tool kit is an idea that lets people determine if they want to come to Drumheller for business, or want to expland their business," says Drumheller CAO Darryl Drohomerski.
The Toolkit will aim to support entrepreneurs by providing relevant information about our local market and will serve to help address some of the challenges that businesses experience when seeking information for their respective plans.
"It gives them an idea around population, a census breakdown so the number of 20-somethings versus 40-somethings, what the housing is like here and a variety of other economic indicators to help make their decisions a bit easier to come to Drumheller," explains Drohomerski.
There are a number of communities in Alberta that are doing this already, and the Toolkit provides online information that is easily accessible, and is a way for businesses to get the information they need in a more timely fashion.
"The idea is that this information exists and has existed for quite some time except it has been in a variety of different hands, and it would take a lot of businesses quite a while to get it from out there, and this way it allows you that one stop shop," advised Drohomerski.
The Town is hoping that the release of The Business Toolkit will aid in bringing an economic roar back to the Valley.
