Drumheller Town Council has passed its Strategic Plan for 2017 and it looks like more of what we saw in the past year or two.
"We got together with a facilitator and we talked about what we want to try and accomplish, not accomplish, what we have to start, what we have to initiate in 2017," reported mayor Terry Yemen. "It's an overview of everything we'll be working on in 2017."
So, what are the biggest priorities this year?
"Flood mitigation, that's still a priority; offsite levies, we started that last year and we have to finish that off; the economic development function and readiness strategies and priorities as it relates to economic development; the celebration of Canada, the 150th celebration; the downtown street scape and the beautification; we have the pull-out at the bottom of the (South) hill; and the Rosedale Industrial Park."
"It's broken down and it's given mainly to the different directors, it's put into their house and they're going to have to work on it, develop plans for implementation and bring them back to council for approval."
