The Hanna Roundhouse is looking for the help from a crowdfunding platform to restore the building.
The Roundhouse is entered into a contest that is put on by the National Trust of Canada.
"They have put on this competition to bring awareness to people that are restoring heritage sites and looking for funding or support," stated Sandra Beaudoin, Hanna Roundhouse Society President.
If the Hanna Roundhouse were to win the $60,000 through the contest, the money would go towards repairing half of the Roundhouse roof.
With the contest it's not only the voting and the participation of the community, but it's also about how much money you're able to raise compared to goal that you have set for the crowdfunding platform.
"Our crowdfunding goal is $50,000 and if we get it or not that's not a big deal, but whatever people have donated to each project they get that at the end of the contest," Beaudoin outlined.
So, how can someone vote for the Hanna Roundhouse?
"In order to get onto the This Place Matters site, enter www.thisplacematters.ca and that will take you into the page where you can access other information. That is the first step and then when you get into that page, at the top there is a tab 'account' and it shows login or register. For the first time you have to register your email address, so you go to register and fill out the information it asks for and once you're registered you can go back and login," concluded Beaudoin.
