A community partnership involving drumhelleronline.com, Drum FM and ATB Financial provided three lucky families with a spectacular Christmas 2017.

Drumheller residents were asked to nominate families they felt deserving of a little bit of extra help this year. Nominations were accepted both on drumhelleronline.com/Drum FM's website and at ATB Financial.

A number of families were nominated for the top prize this year. Just before Christmas, on Dec. 20, ATB staff read through the nominations and chose three families with the most touching and deserving stories.

Each family received a full Christmas dinner along with presents for the children. One of the three winning families is Stephanie Woolsey.

When awarded her prize, Woolsey professed her gratitude for the partnership and the community's support.

"This is going to make a huge difference with our Christmas. There are so many nice people around."

When she found out that her family won, Woolsey could barely contain herself.

"Oh, I was super excited. It was just amazing. My daughter will be over the moon."

Woolsey said that everyone at her home was getting into the Christmas spirit -- aside from her youngest child.

"I think my daughter gets it, more than [my son]. He's still a little clueless on all of it, but he likes the wrapping paper."
