A Three Hills couple is receiving some Hollywood attention after a picture they snapped went viral last summer.
Theunis Wessels, now known affectionately as Lawnmower Man, has become a viral sensation after his wife, Cecelia, snapped a picture of him mowing his lawn with a tornado in the background.
The picture has now been licenced to be in the movie, "Vice", which follows the story of Dick Cheney during his time as Vice President under American President George W. Bush.
"Everything happened in 2017, after the whirlwind experience we had. After two weeks everything calmed down. We had a few things coming through, but we never thought something would really come through from it," explained Wessels.
The family was approached by the production to use the picture, but the Wessels were kept in the dark about what the movie was about.
"They said that there was a possibility they were going to use the photo in a movie. They didn't tell us anything about the name before it happened. Just a few weeks before it got released, they phoned us about it. We were very excited and we watched the movie and we couldn't believe it. A full-blown picture of the tornado and myself. What an experience," continued Wessles.
The pair travelled to Calgary to see the movie, and while the laughter-inducing photo doesn't seem to match the tone of the dark comedy, Wessels assures us that it did.
"As the photo itself, it was used in the beginning to explain the differences of what is happening in the world, and how people react to it," he concluded.
