National Canadian Film Day is a one day celebration of all things Canadian made films.

The Drumheller Public Library will be showing the Canadian film 'Why Shoot the Teacher'.

"National Canadian Film Day is April 19, it's a Wednesday. A lot of places in Canada will be showing Canadian movies, so we're going to be showing a movie on the 17th since we have an event at the library that night. It's going to be an after hours movie, the library closes at 5:00 p.m. and we're going to start it at 6:00," explained Lachie McFadden with the Drumheller Public Library.

"We had a tough time finding it. It is a well known Canadian film that I haven't seen in a long time and we have a copy now. We're going to be providing popcorn and refreshments to have that movie theatre experience," he noted.

The movie will be held in the library's Cenovus Program Room and it's free to attend.

"This is a free thing. It would be great if you could phone the library and pre-register at 403-823-1371," McFadden concluded.
