On Tuesday, April 17 the Badlands Community Facility was the venue for the Town of Drumheller's Volunteer Appreciation Night.

On this evening the people within our community were honored to a dinner in celebration of their volunteering efforts throughout the year.

"They're absolutely vital," said Lana Bosch with the Town of Drumheller. "Many organizations would not be able to run without them."VOLUNTEER1The Wheatland Band performing for the crowd at the BCF

The event was organized by the Town of Drumheller, Family and Community Support Services, Alberta Health Services and Big Country Victim Services. 170 people were in attendance, which counts as a technical sell out as the event was free to join.

"Thank you for your support and your continued support in volunteering with different organizations throughout the community," praised Bosch. "We appreciate you immensely."

Food and entertainment were provided by the Town of Drumheller and the Wheatland Band with Drum FM's Jason Blanke, as the master of ceremonies.

"On our website, we are running a campaign this week for National Volunteer Week. You can check the posts on there; we're advertising different community organizations for different volunteers," instructed Bosch. "If you're interested in helping out you can sign up there."

99.5 DrumFM would also like to take the time to thank all of our community's volunteers for involving themselves with the community.
