We all know that the residents in Drumheller have a lot of heart and they really showed it on April 5.
The Heart to Heart Society held their annual walkathon and raised over $5,000.
"This is the big fundraiser that we have for the Heart to Heart Association. I was down there doing my laps for an attempt to raise money for our organization, which basically gives back to our local hospital for the people who have suffered from heart disease,' stated Trevor Gough, President of the Heart to Heart Society.
"I believe we're close to $340,000 that has been spent on our local hospital for those people who are dealing with those illnesses. It seemed like there was quite a few down there and like I said, I went down and did mine," Gough added.
The Drumheller Health Foundation supplies the Heart to Heart board with a list of items needed for the local hospital and one of the biggest necessities is a defibrillator in the O.R.
"It got damaged from water when it flooded in the roof. This is a replacement component, definitely heart related and it's something that needs to be in our O.R. system," outlined Gough.
