They were in desperate need and again, our community rallied together to help another cause.

The East Coulee School Museum's stove in their kitchen crashed about a week ago, leaving them with no way to cook or bake.

"I put the word out in desperation on Drumheller and Discussion group and then I went to the Brick to see how much a new stove would be. Steve from the Brick generously came up with an offer for a good priced stove," explained Barb Steeves, Executive Director at the East Coulee School Museum.ECSM STOVE 3

Steeves noted that they very quickly received donations.

"We ended up deciding to go and get what we need for the next 10 years, talked to the people who were donating and were very willing to put in the money," she added.

"We have The Brick to thank of their donation of over $500, we have Sublime Food and Wine donated $400 and Rosaire Belisle from Techno Metal Post Inc. from Medicine Hat donated $500."

The stove ended up costing a total of $1,300, but Steeves mentioned that it's worth it.

"It's a beautiful stove; it's got a great cook top, it's got a huge oven in it and it's going to be great when we have big groups here."
