The last A&W MS fundraiser of the summer has wrapped up.

The 'Burgers to Beat MS' fundraiser saw A&W donate $2 for every Teen Burger sold on August 24. Kerrie Halpin, Manager at the Drumheller A&W, said the local A&W restaurant raised over $3,000.

"Our totals were 620 single Teen Burgers and 36 double Teen Burgers, so thank you Drumheller," explained Halpin.

Combined, all of the Canalta-owned A&W restaurants raised just under $91,000.

"We came out on top for our little region here. We were over 1,000 [dollars] more than some of our closest restaurants," said Halpin.

"Our MS day marks the closing of our fundraising for the year. So now we get into doing our high school sponsorships and things like that for the new students, and then we're done until our MS Walk next May."

Halpin was pleased with the turnout this year, calling it very, very successful.
