This Saturday is a day that many families in Drumheller have been waiting for, for a long time. The new indoor pool at the Aquaplex is scheduled to open for the first time since the end of April.
Drum FM's Jason Blanke headed down to the facility this week to talk to some of the younger would-be swimmers.
"Probably the water slide," replied Aden Lowry when asked what he's been missing the most. He added he hasn't had the opportunity to use it since August of last year.
His brother, Owen Lowry was also looking forward to seeing what the new, gradual entry indoor pool looks like, although he admitted it'll be hard to beat the water slide.
The pool was originally supposed to reopen at the end of September, but a number of problems with leaks and poorly fitting equipment forced delays.
The Drumheller Aquaplex opens for business at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30 with the exception of the hot tub, which is still closed. Admission both Saturday and Sunday is free. The pool will be closed on New Year's Day, reopening for regular hours on Tuesday.
