A 34 year old woman from the Drumheller area will appear in Hanna court next month to answer charges of stealing a vehicle.
Last Wednesday, February 21 the Hanna RCMP received a call from a motorist who told them they picked up a stranded motorist south of the town after her vehicle ran out of fuel. The caller said they thought something was fishy, so they called police.
It turns out the vehicle had been stolen from Delia. The suspect, Jamie Ryan of Drumheller, was located and arrested. She was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and possessing stolen property. She was released after a bail hearing and is due back in Hanna Provincial Court on March 28.
Hanna RCMP thank the community for their assistance and encourage people to report any activity that they believe to be suspicious.
