The recent spending of some Members of Legislative Assembly (MLA) are under fire from the public, with one MLA logging 30,000 kilometers of driving time more than anyone else.
Drumheller-Stettler MLA speaks about the subject.
"That is frustrating that people aren't mindful, or think that can be abused," said Rick Strankman.
"Those elected people need to be respectful of those expenses that they can sign on too. I try and be as frugal as I can. I treat it as my own money," continued Strankman.
Strankman also says that mistakes do happen, reminiscing about a misunderstanding between him and his assistant where items were purchased that shouldn't have been.
The important thing, Strankman urged, is that the mistake is fixed by paying it back.
"We have to exhibit a form of specific leadership when we do that, and that is what I try and do in my humble position in the riding," concluded Strankman.
