On March 21, at approximately 9:00am, Stettler RCMP were alerted to a suspicious person requesting assistance in replacing a tire on a vehicle, at a rural property in the Big Valley/Byemoor area.
Stettler RCMP and Blackfalds Integrated Traffic members tracked the vehicle to another rural property where it was ditched and an F-350 stolen.
With the assistance of the public, police were able to roughly track the F-350 as it proceeded North towards Stettler.
At approximately 11:00am Bashaw RCMP received a complaint of a male attempting to gain entry into vehicles using a hammer, in Alix. With the description of the male matching the days previous investigations, Stettler RCMP and Blackalds ITU members attended to provide assistance.
After a brief foot pursuit in Alix, 29yr old Kyle Grams was taken into custody. It was determined that while Grams was in Alix, he had caused mischief to some vehicles, broke into a garage and stole some items. Physical evidence was obtained from each scene linking Grams to all 3 investigations.
Grams has been remanded into custody to attend court on Monday March 26th. He is facing charges including Theft of MV, Possession of Stolen Property, Flight from Police, Mischief among others.
