Traffic will be busier than usual in the valley for the next few days.

May Long Weekend brings many visitors to Drumheller and the RCMP will be out in full force.

"Well drinking and driving is one aspect, but with the long weekend there are more motorists on the road so we have to make sure those roads are safe," said Staff Sergeant, Kevin Charles with the Drumheller RCMP. "We'll be looking for aggressive driving whether it be speeding or texting, we want to make sure everyone is paying attention to the road."

"Typically we see an influx of tourists and more traffic, but no increase in crime," explained Charles. "Be patient and get to where you are going safely."

"We'll be ensuring safe roads for the public."

He added that additional officers and checkstops can be expected this weekend.
