St. Anthony's School was full of artwork and excited bidders on Thursday, November 29th.

Student artwork was auctioned off to help fund extracurricular school activities.

"It was our first shot on it, and we were pleasantly surprised. All the auction pieces had a bid on them," explained Pat Dayle from Friends of St. Anthony's.

According to Doyle, it was quite a frenzy to get hands on a favourite piece of artwork.

"Some little wars were going on with certain pieces among parents and people in the community. We were very happy with the bidding that happened with our guests. It was very well attended," enthused Doyle.

The success of the event can be found in the numbers.

"We raised over $2,000 and we were happy with that," said Doyle as he explained what the money will go towards. "The Friends of St.Anthony's is the fundraising arm of a council. It funds arts, sports, trips and other non-core funding that isn't funded by the funding from the province."
