The St. Anthony's 2019 grad class is getting ahead of the game.

The class just finished up a fundraiser to raise money for their graduation ceremony next year.

"The St. Anthony's Grad Committee did their first bottle drive this year and their first fundraiser. We were pretty excited to do it, we had quite a few kids and about half of our class show up this time," explained Graduation Head Coordinator, Andrew Germain. "We had a pretty good haul as well for only doing it for two hours in the early morning. We filled up a pretty good corner of the Drumheller Bottle Depot. I think we made a pretty good dent, at least starting, so that we all can get to grad without having to pay.

The kids split up to conquer as much ground as they could.

"I hit up quite a few businesses and we went up by Monarch Hill, We also had quite a few kids go up by Bankveiw as well," continued Germain.

As of now, the 2019 St. Anthony's grad class tops off with 12 students and hosting a graduation ceremony doesn't come cheap.

"So all the money we are going to be using is probably going to be going towards the banquet hall at the BCF, where we are going to be having our grad party and the graduation itself," informed Germain.

The class will also be selling Purdy's Chocolate Christmas later on this year as well. If you are interested in getting your hands on some chocolate, you can call  403-820-6567 for more information.
