With spring just around the corner it might be time to start thinking about signing up for some recreational activities.

The Spring Sports, Recreation and Arts Expo offers a variety of opportunites for valley residents to register for local programs.

"Springtime is great for outdoor sports," said Amber Leavitt with the Badlands Community Facility (BCF). "People from the community expect to be able to come to this event and register their kids, so it's the perfect way to showcase organizations."

The event will be held at the BCF field house on March 8 from 4:00p.m until 7:00p.m.

"We have netball coming too and they are a growing sport at the BCF," explained Leavitt. "They come every Thursday for their sport, which is new to the BCF and new to Drumheller."

Some activities that kids and adults can register for at the expo include netball, rugby, softball, and swimming.

"Feedback that we got from our surveys last year was that people want to see what is going on in Drumheller for the spring," Leavitt noted. "If somebody out there has something that they want to demonstrate please contact us and we'll fill you into a spot for our demonstrations."

The deadline to register a booth approaches on February 22.

To register as an exhibitor you can pick up a form at the BCF front desk or follow this link.
