UPDATE: January 15, 2019, 10:00 am

A semi-truck rollover occurred early on Tuesday Morning just West of the Morrin Corner intersection of Highway 9, 27, and 56.

"The rollover was approximately one kilometre West on highway 27 on the Morrin Corner," explains Morrin Fire Chief Darcy Davidson.

The accident took place around 4:30 am in the morning.

"The tractor-trailer unit just rolled over. The tractor-trailer ended up crossing the entire highway, closing the entire highway down," he continued.

The highway has been shut down since the accident and will continue until further notice explained Davidson.

"The road is not open right now. Highway 27 West from Morrin Corner is going to be closed down for a very good portion of the day. The crew is doing the clean-up is probably going to be involved in doing that for the next four or five hours, and then another four hours to move the vehicle."

Detour signs are up directing vehicles north around the town of Morrin.


DrumFM has received a report of an overturned semi west of the intersection of Highway 56, 27 and 9 at approximately 4:30 am. The semi is blocking traffic both ways, and travel is not advised on Highway 27 east of Highway 9.
