One of the biggest charitable efforts in Drumheller is to begin next Thursday, November 24.
The Salvation Army Food Bank is ready for the biggest fundraiser of their year starting at 6:00 p.m. on the 24th.
"We just ask people would pick up a Red Food Bag, which is found in the Inside Drumheller paper. Just pick one up, fill it up and put it on your doorstep and at 6:00 we'll have a group of volunteers going out to pick up all the donations that people have left on their doorstep," explained Captain Shane Hillier with the Drumheller Salvation Army.
So, if someone's bag doesn't get picked up, where can the locals drop them off at?
"If we have missed you at some time that evening, please drop it off at the Thrift Store or at our Family Services at the Church and we will be sure to get it over to our Christmas warehouse location," added Hillier.
Captain Hillier mentioned that the Salvation Army Food Bank has seen an increase in numbers this year.
"This is the second year for an increase, so we are asking that others be aware of others in their neighbourhood and in the community and that they give generously," expressed Hillier.
