Even though our Captains are leaving, our new Sally Anne is on it's way to completion.

The new Salvation Army building across the street from the DrumFM studios in the old ATCO building is on track for it's September opening.

"It'll take us a few weeks over the summer to kinda get in there and get settled," explained Captain Jennifer Hillier. "In September, we'll start up our full swing of programs again for the fall."

The job is no small task, especially for the Sally Anne, as it has more then one type of service going into the building. The building will house it's food bank, thrift store, Sally's Kitchen and business space for the organization.

"Going into new spaces and certainly in our storage and sort areas; For the ministries that we have like the food bank and the thrift store, it take a while to set those things up in the must sufficient way possible," outlined the Captain. "I'm sure it'll take us a few weeks to really get in there and get settled before we feel like we have a system and a flow of work. "

"Everything that we do is going to be moving into the new building," concluded Captain Hillier. "Hopefully we can serve the community in more efficient ways"

The Hillier's will be in Drumheller heading up the conclusion of the construction to the new Salvation Army building until their departure near the end of June 2018.
