Sally's Social Cafe will become the newest craze in the Drumheller Valley.

"It's basically a time where people can come out and meet other members of the community. It really facilitates community connections and reduces social isolation," stated Captain Jennifer Hillier of the Drumheller Salvation Army.

The program Sally's Social Cafe will be happening every Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 at the Knox United Church.

"Folks can come on out, have a nice nutritious meal and just spend some time together. There will be games available as well as coffee and tea so that we can all sit and connect to make social connections in our community," Hillier noted.

This program is not a 'soup kitchen' however, there is a meal served for the low cost of $3.

"There's no limits, this is not geared towards a certain demographic, it's just for anyone in the community who wants to come out. It's a program run by the community for the community," outlined Hillier.

So, is Sally's Social Cafe in need of some volunteers?

"We do have some volunteers ready to help get us started, but as we go forward I'm sure we're going to need volunteers help. If we have members of the community who are available to come help us, give us a call here at the Salvation Army at 403-823-2215 and ask for Janessa," concluded Hillier.
