4H Alberta turns 100 this year!

The celebration for Drumheller 4H will be taking place in Rowley on June 10.

"We are going to be playing 4H games as well as old races like the three-legged race, people run barrels and stuff like that," explained Melanie Nelson with 4H. "We're going to have displays of all our clubs, so historical displays up until now."

There will be speeches and scholarships awarded starting at 3:00p.m.

"We're having a program and that is going to have some speakers from past 4H," said Nelson. "I think Tim Fisher is coming and Doug Stanger, who was the one who started the Drumheller 4H Scholarship."

The event will also see a talent show featuring past 4H members.

"To me, 4H is one of the most important things you can give to your kids," admitted Nelson. "They will learn leadership, how to public speak, be a team player and they will learn how to have their own project. 4H isn't necessarily just animals, everbody thinks it is. 4H can be almost anything you want it to be."

At the end of the night, Blake Reed will be performing 'Room to Grow,' a song he wrote for the event.
