The Hanna Roundhouse Society gets together next week for its annual general meeting and the state of the century old building will dominate the agenda.
"We're having an event in August and we are looking at trying to raise some money to patch our roof and get some power into the building," stated Sandra Beaudoin, president of the society.
"We've got a meeting with Superior Codes to try and find out what we can do for a building like ours, where there is no building code (in place)," she elaborated. "I'm going to meet with our heritage advisor and Superior Codes to see if we can set up something that we can actually have events on a regular basis as we're building towards getting the building open to the public."
The Hanna Roundhouse Society AGM is scheduled for Monday, March 20 at 6:00 p.m. in the Hanna Library conference room. New members are welcome.
"I'm kind of hoping that maybe we might be able to get a trade school or a heritage workshop in two of the bays that we really hadn't designated for any use yet," added Beaudoin. "Things are still in the works, but it's kind of exciting for us."
