One of the biggest evenings of the year for the Drumheller Rotary Club is coming up in a little over two months.

The Rotary Celebration of Excellence awards gala is scheduled for Saturday, April 8 at the Ceretaceous Conference Centre.

"People can nominate now until March 15 and once the nominations are in the committee meets, they review all the nominations and then a selection of two finalists is made," outlined vice-president Bev Krabsen. "On Saturday, April 8 we will be having our Celebration of Excellence, where we will be making the announcement on the winner."

"We will be having the Celebration of Excellence at the Cretaceous Conference Centre," she continued. "Tickets are $40 and they're available at SJ Fashions or through the Rotary Club of Drumheller through our website, which is www.drumhellerrotary.com."

The Rotary awards are Citizen of the Year, which is given to a longtime community volunteer, male and female athlete of the year and a special award for the staff member who makes people feel the most welcome.

"Nominations for the Most Courteous Employee of the Year celebrate the helpful and enthusiastic attitude when working with customers, they show initiative (and) they go above and beyond what is normally expected in a sales person," explained Krabsen.

The Town of Drumheller will also be presenting a couple of awards that evening for its "Leaders of Tomorrow."
