A valley resident is the lucky winner of $5,000.
The Drumheller Rotary Club held their Big Ball Bounce on August 5 in the parking lot of Riverside Value Drugmart.
"It was a few months ago that we started it, we sold 2,000 tickets and we had 2,000 lacrosse balls numbered in conjunction with the tickets and the balls were dumped onto the street," said chairperson for the event, Barb Campbell.
Taylor Jensen's ticket number corresponded with the one on the winning ball.
"This is our first one and hopefully it will go again next year," noted Campbell. "I'm really going to push for it again next year."
"I was given a ticket from my boss for a similar event that was held in St. Albert by the Rotary Club and he suggested the club here do something like it," explained Campbell. "I brought it to the club here and they agreed."
Ray Romanetz claimed the prize of $500 on June 26 at the Rotary Club's early bird draw.
