A tractor pulling a seeder drill has downed a power-line in Rosedale on Highway 56 at the corner of centre street.

No official statement has been made by Atco Electric of yet, but according to Fire Chief Bruce Wade, a power-line pole has been pulled down and will need to be repaired.

"A concern is the detoured traffic through Rosedale," said  Wade. "Time-wise, Carillion will be out there setting up barricades and re-routing traffic."

Power outages, phone land-lines and internet for some residents have been confirmed by a resident of Rosedale who wishes to remain anonymous.

"The biggest problem is the Telus line," explained Wade. "It could take them quite a while to repair that. Highway 10 is going to be detoured for a couple of hours."

Bruce also said that the height of the farm equipment was high enough to catch the overhead power-lines and pull down the pole.

Atco is currently assessing the situation. DrumFm will report more on this when information becomes available.
