"We're just so pleased and proud that Frank Nickel is joining us," exclaimed Colin Jackson, Chair of the Rosebud Centre of the Arts. "This is a person who's had over 10 years experience in the arts and leadership in the arts as General Manager of a Christian based theatre company in Vancouver in particular."
He adds Nickel has performed in Rosebud and has a great passion for the theatre.
The role of the Executive Director can be quite complex at times. Nickel will be working with the Artistic Director, Education Director and others with their work. He will also be involved in advocating for Rosebud Theatre, working with the board on strategic planning and will play a big role in public relations for Rosebud.
Nickel was born and raised in British Columbia and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, Theatre Major, from Simon Fraser University. Two years ago he received the John Hobday Award for Arts Management from Canada Council of Arts and is a co-founder of two theatre companies.
"It speaks well for all the marvellous things that the people have done at Rosebud over the last decades now that he'd be, somebody who has a good strong career in Vancouver, would be kind of yearning to come to come and join us. We think that's pretty flattering," said Jackson.
Nickel will start full time in Rosebud on May 1, 2017.
