There is going to be a road closure next summer and the Town of Drumheller wants to hear from you.
"This open house is a chance to come and talk to the people that are going to be doing some culvert repairs. The culvert repair is taking place on South Railway Avenue next summer. The company who is going to be doing the repair for Alberta Transportation are going to be in town next Wednesday. The idea is to talk about the project and also possible road closures, so the idea is to talk to the people and see the options available and what the people would prefer," explained Julia Fielding, the Economic Development and Communications officer for the Town of Drumheller.
Fielding added that this replacement will affect the industrial part of Drumheller.
"We've done a mail out to everyone in the industrial park, we will encourage those people who have questions and want to have a say in traffic direction (to) come to the open house on Wednesday," noted Fielding.
So how long is the closure going to be?
"That depends on which road closure option we have, so that's why they need to come. We can do a total road closure,ch is the quicker option but possibly more pain, or we can do a half road closure," said Fielding.
The open house will be taking place at the Badlands Community Facility on Wednesday, November 9 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
