As temperatures begin to rise, so do the number of tourists arriving in the valley.
The Town of Drumheller is looking for food vendor operators at strategic locations to help feed all those hungry visitors.
"There's certainly opportunities. There's a lot of people that are in the splash park and for July 1 too," said Mayor Terry Yemen. July 1 is hopping, so it would be nice to see 10 or 12 carts down there but there's only two right (and) still lots of room."
Earlier this spring the Town of Drumheller issued a request for vendor proposals, which closed on March 27. At the time of closure only two proposals were received. In a separate proposal, Community Futures Big Country has proposed a pilot project in which two seasonal fixed vendor stations will be installed at the Hoodoos site.
Yemen adds the Town is also willing to work with vendors interested in setting up at the either the Rosedale Suspension Bridge or at the Hoodoos.
Interested food cart operators are asked to call the Town's Economic Development Officer, Julia Fielding, to get signed up at 403-823-1320.
