Our local law enforcement can be something to admire if not for their skills in policing our community then maybe their physical endurance.
Specifically, Constable Eric Doucette of the Drumheller Detachment. He participated in the Baker to Vegas Run in Nevada this year.
"It's a very popular race with law enforcement. This year the RCMP had two teams, as usual, in the run," said the Constable. "Both teams, a women's team and a mixed team, were both from Alberta."
He further comments that there were a few international running in the team as well as a few members from British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
"I ran a different leg this year then I did previously. The leg that I ran was about 6.2 miles," he continued. "Which averages out to 10 kilometers."
Constable Doucette ran the 10kms uphill.
"This year I ran 53 minutes and 10 seconds, I believe, up the mountain. So I was very satisfied with that." concluded Const. Doucette.
