A group of local sewing enthusiasts are hard at work this weekend.

"It's a Quilt Retreat where we quilt for three days straight. You can go to bed if you like, but you don't have to," explained Faye Hector, owner of Spoolz. "We sew till the wee hours of the morning and meals are served to you."

"It's just a group of ladies that get together and we all sew and visit," said Hector. "I think it's going to be a great weekend, all the women showed up and that's all I can ask for."

The group of women got started on Friday at 9:00 a.m. Hector added that after the Quilting Retreat, the women will be keeping the quilts they made or will be using them as gifts.

"Some of the locals go home at night then they come back in the morning, have some breakfast at the hotel, and then they get back to sewing again," she added.

The Quilt Retreat is taking place at the Jurassic Inn Cretaceous Conference Room.
