Swimming fanatics, this is for you.

The Drumheller Aquaplax is back up and running after being under repairs for over a month. While the pool is now open, there are some small repairs still happening,

"The hot tub will not be available. There is some warranty work being done on the grouting. And the type of grouting work being used needs at least 7 days to cure. So, it will take a little while before we can get it filled water and approved by Alberta Health Services to be re-opened," explained Aquatics Supervisor, Andrea Leavitt.

Those with memberships can rejoice as they will be reimbursed for time lost.

"If you had a multi-faculty membership, you will get one-third of the time we were closed added back on to the membership. If you had an Aquaplex only membership, then you will get the full time we were closed added back onto your membership," continued Leavitt. "We are hoping to have all those extended in the next couple of weeks. There are quite a few to go through, so it does take a bit of time to add those on."

The Aquaplex realizes the frustration that the closure has caused and sympathizes with the public.

"Memberships are being extended because we understand the inconvenience that our closure caused. We didn't know we were going to have a leak and so, with any unforeseen closure we make sure to compensate everybody for the inconvenience," concluded Leavitt.
