On Friday morning, the Beiseker detachment was called about a suspicious vehicle spinning its tires in the community of Acme.
Further investigation found the same vehicle, a stolen pickup truck, had been involved in a dangerous incident on Highway 567, driving in the oncoming lane and forcing several drivers to swerve into the ditch to avoid it.
RCMP tried to block the truck in Acme, but the driver tried to ram the cruiser, then took off. It was tracked down by the Calgary Police HAWCS helicopter after it crashed through a farmer's fence into a field and became stuck.
21 year old Bryan Lawrence Moffitt was out on release after being caught with a stolen vehicle earlier this year. He's facing eight new charges, including dangerous driving, running from police and driving while disqualified.
Moffitt is scheduled to appear in Calgary Provincial Court on October 9.
