Some homes and businesses will have to fix their clocks and crank the heat later this evening. 
 
Atco Electric will be shutting off the power to a few different communities within Drumheller from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. 
 
"We call it a planned outage so we can do necessary work to the system in that area," stated Sylvia Adams with Atco Electric. "If temperatures do reach a certain low, we would not proceed with the work. We want to ensure that all the employees who are performing the work area safe, as well as our customers."
 
So, where exactly will this power outage take place?
 
"It was described as Drumheller Landfill area, so being that eastern portion of Drumheller, and then East Coulee, Rosedale, Cambria and Lehigh were all identified communities," Adams outlined. 
 
If homes or businesses in these effected areas power does not come back on after 4:00 p.m., they are encouraged to get in contact with Atco. 
 
"If anyone is experiencing a power outage and they did not receive a notification, they should contact Atco Electric at 1-800-668-5506."
