Mother Nature took away the cold weather and then brought it back again, and left us with icy conditions.
"We have had some pretty quick changing road conditions, so there's been a few spots that are particularly icy where vehicles have slid off the road. We just want to remind drivers to be extra cautious as the temperatures go above and below zero (it) makes ice just about everywhere," stated Corporal Gerald Sherk with the Drumheller RCMP Detachment.
When we had the big melting of snow, it left a lot of puddles. Unfortunately, those puddles are now ice.
"A lot of that water didn't have a chance to leave the roadways, now we have snow on top of that ice, so it's pretty slick out there. People need to be careful when their driving and give themselves some extra time," Sherk explained.
Besides the ice, the Drumheller Valley has been seeing a lot of fog which has been close to zero visibility at times.
"The other day, I think it was yesterday, the fog was pretty bad as soon you got up out of the valley. Just with those changing weather conditions, people just need to be very careful," mentioned Sherk.
