Quiet on set!

Cameras, extras and even a high tech drone was seen filming in the valley on August 22.

The Town of Drumheller is shooting a new promotional video about Drumheller to draw in potential newcomers to the valley.

"It has been in the plan since last year, in council, we have been talking about doing promotion for the economic development of the town," explained Drumheller Communications Officer Julia Fielding.

"We put the tender out earlier this year, and a number of businesses applied to get the contract to create the videos, and Smoke Signal Media from Rosebud was the successful company,"dronecloseupSmoke Signal Media's drone preparing for a bird's eye viewcontinued Fielding.

Smoke Signal Media is no stranger to the valley having produced promotional videos for the Atlas Coal Mine, Rosebud Theatre and the Canadian Badlands Passion Play.

The crews were seen shooting outside of Jungling Works with a drone. The drone flew high enough to see the water tower in the background.

"It is just a new camera they got, and so its really high tech. It can go up to ten kilometers away," explained Jenna Kimpinski, who was helping out Smoke Signal Media for the day.

The crew is planning on shooting at other locations such as Cafe Ole, the Red Deer River, and different schools in the valley.

Fielding goes on to say that she can't wait to see the finished product soon.
