A presentation was made to Town Council last week from the chair of the town's Economic Development Committee.
"There's been discussion on (the town's) logo, refreshening that up, and that comes from Council's wishes to create a more life giving logo," outlined Summer Manca, who added it's part of a new look for Drumheller. "A colour scheme for Drumheller businesses to make sure that they're all appealing and on the same colour palette."
"We hope to provide a template for blade signs for downtown businesses," she elaborated. "They're signs that hang outside of a business, from the wall out, so that when you walk along you can see which business."
The Economic Development Committee was formed by Town Council to come up with ways to improve life in the valley. It has a number of sub-committees which still meet to discuss ideas. Many of them have to do with improving the look of downtown particularly.
"We're still looking at it as a whole, but basically just something visually appealing, working together to create something that's attractive and inviting for people to come downtown, spend time and shop," stated Manca.
She also suggested that the committee update Council every two months on its work and councilors were open to that idea.
