Kneehill County has hired an interim Chief Administrative Officer until a permanent replacement can be hired. Peter Tarnawsky has been hired for the position.

The position became available this fall due to the resignation of Al Hoggan back in October. The opportunity was something Tarnawsky was looking for.

"When council found themselves in need of a CAO they decided to canvas through various municipal avenues for an interim CAO. I saw it, I had a conversation with the previous CAO and I made myself available."petertarnawsky2Peter Tarnawsky - Interim CAO for Kneehill County; Photo courtesy of Kneehill County, Three Hills Capital

Tarnawsky believes it is an interesting opportunity. "The organization is in good financial stead. It's a matter of helping the organization maintain forward progress and continue to define and address some of the strategic opportunity and challenges."

This is not the first time that Tarnawsky has done interim work. Last year he did similar work for Cypress County in the Medicine Hat area. He has plenty of experience as he has worked over 15 years in municipal government.

Tarnawsky's plan is to stay in the position until a new CAO for the county is found.
