The way is clear for Drumheller's newest downtown dinosaur.
Crews have removed the old concrete Triceratops just outside the Napier Theatre on Centre Street in preparation for a brand new replacement.
"That dinosaur has been gifted, essentially, to Kneehill County and I believe they're going to put him at Horseshoe Canyon," explained Marley Henneigh of the DinoArts Committee. "DinoArts and the Chamber (of Commerce) have a new dinosaur coming for that corner."
"The other one is actually going to be smaller, though, because the new dinosaurs are kind of costly," she continued. "It won't be nearly as large, but he will be new and he will be here sometime this summer."
The replacement dinosaur has been ordered, but we're just going to have to wait to find out what it will look like.
"I don't want to say too much, I don't want to spoil the surprize but he will be, let's say, newer style, slightly less whimsical maybe," teased Henneigh. "He or she, I'm not sure if it actually has a gender, but it will be here probably within the next month (to) month and a half, I want to say."
